Leisure facilities across Mendip are in line for a multi-million pound cash injection as sport and leisure management charity Fusion Lifestyle takes over responsibility for operating five of Mendip council’s facilities.
Fusion Lifestyle, which manage almost 90 leisure and fitness sites across the UK, will be investing millions of pounds over the term of its leases on Mendip council’s leisure facilities. This will ensure that state of the art leisure facilities are available at affordable prices to all members of the local community.
Under the agreement Fusion will be investing almost ÂŁ3m across Frome Leisure Centre, Wells Leisure Centre, Strode Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, Tor Sports and Leisure Centre and Shepton Mallet Lido between now and April 2018.
Fusion Lifestyle’s 50-year leases for the facilities started on 1st June, when the council’s existing leisure contract with Western Community Leisure and Avalon Leisure came to an end.
