Comm OperManaging ten leisure centres across the East Riding of Yorkshire, East Riding Leisure (ERL) delivers services to some 327,400 residents in the namesake county. Customer visits have almost doubled from 2.8million in 2005/06 to over 5million in 2015/16 and that figure is set to grow even more this year.

“Being close to our customers by placing them at the very heart of service delivery has been a recipe for success,” says Darren Stevens, Head of Culture and Information, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Manager of ERL. “Another essential piece of the jigsaw in providing a leisure service – with a mission statement of ‘going beyond what customers expect’ – is keeping up to date with growing customer expectations, in the quality of service they can expect.

Better facilities, coupled with excellent service delivery is paying dividends to customers and offering a return on investment.”

ERL is part of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Environment and Neighbourhood Services Directorate, and forms part of its Culture and Information Service.
