Work has begun on the rebuild of Erdington Leisure Centre in Birmingham ā€“ the first of three centres across the city to be replaced by Birmingham Community Leisure Trust (BCLT).

The Ā£8m development at Erdington will feature a 25m swimming pool, a teaching pool and is part of a Ā£40m investment to improve leisure and exercise facilities across the city.

Building work is being undertaken by ISG Construction plc, who were awarded the contract for new leisure centres at Erdington, Northfield and Stechford.

BCLT is also delivering a programme of refurbishments to Fox Hollies Leisure Centre; Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre; Beeches Leisure Centre and Wyndley Leisure Centre.
