Cornwall Pools recommend the Starline one-piece-pool approach…
When a couple approached Cornwall Pools, the UK Pool Contractors Of The Year, the brief was simple. The family loved to swim and they wanted a family pool that was simple, low maintenance and most of all, quick to install. Over several site visits, Cornwall Pool’s Nigel Brawn presented a few different construction options but it was the one-piece pool that fitted the brief perfectly.
“I have installed other one-piece pools, all very good, but the quality of the build, seeing first-hand the manufacturing, the back-up from Starline and the exceptional back-up from Ocea UK , made the choice easy,” Nigel explains. “The customer was after the largest 12m pool possible with entry steps across the whole of one end – the Starline Nova ideal fit.”
DOUBLE CHECKS
With groundworks carried out by their on-site contactor, several more site visits were in order, with drawings to hand, to check and double-check to be sure all was correct. Nigel explains: “It was a very difficult install as we had to transfer the pool from the Starline lorry to a specifically adapted trailer as the lanes were too narrow for the manufacturer’s lorry.
“We had to trim a few trees and what should have been a 10 minute journey from the main road took two hours,” he adds. Allowing for the base going down, the paving on the project was completed in three months. From the pool arriving on-site and commissioning — just seven days.
The coping was provided by Cranbourne Stone, the other finishing touches by the client. Nigel sums up: “The pool shell can come with plant but we prefer to buy this, prior to install of the pool, so that side of the install is completed and just awaiting the final connection. “It went very well, we now of course look after the pool for the client and they are enjoying a wonderful family asset.”
