Birmingham Beckons

Boasting the biggest range of hot tubs and spas on display under one roof, the fourth edition of the UK Pool & Spa Expo returns to the NEC in Birmingham in November.

Taking place from Sunday November 22 to Tuesday 24 inclusive, the 2015 event aims to provide a fresh approach for existing pool and spa businesses as well as information and advice for providers of commercial facilities.

Building on its success last year, a highlight of the 2015 Expo will be the Hot Tub Debate, which will see some of the UK’s leading industry personalities face questions from the audience in a ‘Question Time’ style seminar. Chaired by Pool & Spa Scene’s Christina Connor, the debate is the ideal platform for exhibitors and visitors to discuss current issues facing the hot tub sector.

The Question Time style panel will include Jonathan Bunn and Lloyd Burden of Hydropool, Robert Carlin on Superior Spas and Richard Hart of Aqua Warehouse. The debate will take place at 10am on Monday November 23 in the seminar theatre, near to the Central Hub.

Alongside the panel forum there will also be seminars on safety and energy efficiency as well as the opportunity to gain a Certified Pool Operators certificate at the on-site two day course.

Taking on board comments from the previous show in February, the Expo organisers took the decision to bring the fourth edition forward by four months to fit with new product launches and buying cycles.

“With change comes progress, in order to move forward, stay abreast of what is best for the industry and break new ground, we must adapt,” says event director Claire Saunders.

“The new dates come into line with global events. It allows us to stand apart from any other show in the UK and is therefore perfectly placed for companies to showcase their newest products to the UK marketplace.”

Aside from the date change, the New Events team has been working hard to get the right balance of exhibitors into this year’s show. With rumblings about the event become a ‘spa show’, special attention has been paid to the pool companies to ensure a good pool and spa balance. Among the exhibitors returning to the show this year are Doughboy, ITS Europe, Portrait Pools and Wellis. New faces are a plenty too, with debuts from Crown Pavilions, BRIO Group, Jo Downs and Pool-Dek, to name but a few.

Offering networking opportunities for the UK pool and spa sector, the event also boasts the added attraction of the UK Pool & Spa Awards that are being held at the nearby Vox Centre within Resorts World on the second evening, Monday November 23.

Other highlights include the networking party held within the exhibition hall at the end of the first trading day on Sunday 22. The event is open to end-users as well as business visitors. Entry into the show is free and there is free parking and free Wi- Fi on site.

A Superior Choice

Superior Spas is making a welcome return visit to the UK Pool & Spa Expo on the back of previous successes.
“We secured new dealers as well as retail sales during the last show,” says Robert Carlin, managing director, who says re-booking for this year was never in question. The difference for Superior Spas is that they will be exhibiting this year as the UK distributor for Wellis.
