The eco-efficient Heatform system is a firm favourite…
Launched in 2019, the HeatForm insulated panel pool system has quickly become a firm favourite with the pool trade and end-users alike. A triumph of British engineering and manufacturing, Heatform won the UK Pool and Spa Award for Energy Efficiency in 2019. Compared to a traditional concrete pool, its use of a unique, recycled insulation material can reduce energy consumption by up to 50%.
The uniqueness of the HeatForm system lies in the insulation properties of the panels themselves. Each panel is comprised of an 80mm core of recycled insulation made from post consumer (PET) empty plastic bottles. Heatform’s foam core not only meets the stringent technical requirements for composites but also helps to preserve and enhance the natural environment.
There are an incredible 750 recycled bottles in just one 2.5 m long panel and approximately 9000 in a standard pool! So, as well as reducing the energy wastage through heat loss and keeping running costs to a minimum, the simple and effective use of recycled materials cuts down on landfill.
HeatForm is constantly innovating and striving to design pool products which are both robust and versatile whilst at the same time ecologically conscious and energy efficient,” comments Daniel Phillips, Director of Lighthouse Pools. “Times are changing and one of biggest challenges currently facing the pool world is simply to keep up with the advances in energy efficient technology which consumers recognise as hugely important.
“I believe that as a relatively small, independent, family-run business, we have the adaptability, inventiveness and passion to bring even more great products which satisfy this growing energy conscious audience.” Its eco-friendly credentials offer benefits that appeal to the modern, forward thinking consumer and its flexible and straight-forward modular design is fully customisable.
This means it is a system which caters for a broad range of settings from the most compact of garden sites to large scale commercial settings, and crucially there are both above and in ground options. It is a versatile system which can lend itself to areas of sloping terrain and other awkward locations. Blue Rock Pools, in Bristol, recently completed a 12 x 2.5 m pool in a tricky location.
The pool was also kitted out with a HeatForm Tidal cover in Premium Blue using a bespoke bracket system and heated with a Polytropic Master Inverter heat pump alongside a HeatForm AlphaFlo pump. “Heatform was chosen for this project as the area the customer had chosen for the pool to be sited was on multi-tiered levels consisting of solid rock,” explains Jane Pitman, Owner of Blue Rock Pools.
“The pool needed to be self-supporting and above ground. This was then decked around to give the illusion of an in-ground pool. “It was extremely helpful buying all the necessary kit from the one supplier, not only because Lighthouse have great knowledge of their products but they were also only too happy to help over the phone with any queries.
“It was also good to have all the equipment arrive together in one job lot and on time,” added Jane, singling out Lighthouse sales co-ordinator Phil for being extremely helpful with the project. There are no limitations to the length or width of a HeatForm pool as, although the panels are available in ½ metre increments at varying depths, the in-house manufacturing team at HeatForm can produce any size panel within a short lead time.
The pools are easy and quick to install which also makes them a popular and affordable choice for the steady DIY market ; the panels bolt together to form a basic shell which is then lined, with either a simple bag liner or modern on-site lining, allowing the client to stamp their own personality on the project.
For those wanting all the advantages of a pool at home but perhaps lacking space, the HeatForm exercise pools, designed using the award-winning HeatForm panel system, complete with the HeatForm Velocity swim jet provide an ideal solution. The Exercise pools are available in two kit sizes 5×2.5m and 6x3m and come complete with all the necessary installation equipment.
They can be installed above or in ground and the Velocity swim jet can be hidden behind a discreet vanity panel if required. Similarly, HeatForm is an ideal choice for larger swim schools and commercial settings, like the Puddleducks swim school housed in a shopping precinct!
