Wowing the judges in the recent UK Pool & Spa Awards, this Aquascapes project was the runaway winner of the title, Residential Outdoor Pool Of The Year.
An uncompromisingly modern design with high sustainability standards, the pool is sympathetically rendered to blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape of barns and farmland. Not only did the new works utilise the existing buildings, but the pool is filled from a natural spring.
The 20m contemporary outdoor freeboard pool project, situated in picturesque Suffolk, is packed with sustainable features including integrated solar cover, a marble/flint waterfall feature wall and hard landscaping.
The striking bright, marble-effect ‘Miesian’ arch, clad in porcelain tiles, projects over the deep-blue swimming pool, so suddenly it feels like you’re not in England at all.
This is matched with a pool cover that not only protects the pool but gives it stylish finish when not in use.
Boasting a 30-year pedigree, Aqauscapes specialises in bespoke design and construction for both commercial and domestic markets. By undertaking a flexible design approach, they set out to offer awareness of the importance of energy efficiency and the environmental impact in each project.
Featuring in multiple websites as feature articles such as ‘Timber Trade Federation’ and ‘The Journal of the American Institute Of Architects’, the UK Pool & Spa Awards judges described the project as a stunning contemporary freeboard pool with complex engineering and spectacular tiled finish.
