Motivated and focused dealers made the first half of this year a roaring success for Hydropool in Europe, with sales figures up by 42 per cent by the end of July.
As director of European sales Lloyd Burden reports, continued media exposure of both spas and swim spas has helped the industry tremendously this year.
“I believe that in 2014 there were around 10,000 pieces sold in the UK and I think that we’re probably back up to 18,000 to 20,000 pieces in Europe,” says Lloyd. “The European industry is definitely upbeat and the market is growing at a double figure rate; the European trade shows have been full of positive feel, it is a breath of fresh air.”
As one of the longest and well-established hot tub brands in the UK, Hydropool continues to raise the profile of hot tubs and swim spas among consumers. There are currently 14 Hydropool showrooms located across the country, from Edinburgh down to Portsmouth and across to Torquay and Northern Ireland.
“Our dealers benefit from a comprehensive support programme, which includes point of sale materials, marketing incentives and a corporate website for day-to-day technical and sales assistance,” comments Lloyd.”
“We also offer dealers direct access to the factory support teams and we host regular training programmes, supported by the factory, all over Europe.”
One of Hydropool’s most successful marketing strategies is face to face interaction with potential customers at consumer exhibitions and county shows. The company attends around eight to ten shows each year, including Grand Designs Live, the Ideal Home Show, the Southampton Boat Show and the London Boat Show to guide visitors through the benefits of its range of products.
The Hydropool portfolio consists of Self-Cleaning Swim Spas, Self-Cleaning Hot Tubs and the Serenity Series Hot Tubs – all designed to fit a different section of the market. The popular self-cleaning technology filters the water every 15 minutes by skimming the surface to remove debris and oils and vacuuming dirt and grit from the floor.
All products are manufactured in Ontario, Canada and stock levels in the UK average at around 200 pieces during the season, with an order to delivery period of four to eight weeks. 2016 is already looking bright for Hydropool, with plans in progress for a complete overhaul of the 7 series self-cleaning range for 2016, plus the introduction of a sixth swim spa mould to the already extensive range.
Lloyd concludes: “Our short term goal is to see the continued growth of the UK dealer network with carefully selected dealerships, with a view to be Europe’s number one hot tub brand.”
