Garforth Named Hot Tub Capital of Yorkshire

GarforthThe little-known village of Garforth has been dubbed “Hot Tub Capital of Yorkshire” by a local spa business.

Garforth, which nestles nine miles outside of Leeds, was crowned with its title by local distributor, Outdoor Living, with the company making its proclamation based on its sales data over the past 12 years.

It was revealed that a whopping 12.7 per cent of all hot tubs purchased, ended up taking residence in the town with home owners in the nearby villages of Sherburn in Elmet, South Milford and other LS25 postcodes reportedly buying the most Jacuzzis. The J200 series proved the most popular choice for buyers, accounting for 52 per cent of sales since 2015, with the J300 responsible for 34.5 per cent of trade.

Darren Jowett, Showroom Manager at Outdoor Living in Leeds, admitted he was slightly surprised by the results, but not by the increasing number of sales they are experiencing. “We always seem to do quite well with our sales in the villages,” he said, “possibly because there are some bigger houses there with more room for a hot tub. We thought villages such as Linton in West Yorkshire would be above Garforth and the surrounding area.”

Moortown, Harewood and Moor Allerton, and the rest of the LS17 postcode came second in Outdoor Livings poll, whilst Collingham, Linton and Wetherby made it into third place, with 7.8 per cent.
