When it comes to business, likeable Lancashire lad, John Preston, prefers to add the personal touch – well, after all, the company does have his name on it.
Preston by name and location, the team sets out to ensure every job is finished to the highest possible standards, with every project overseen by John himself. Enthusiastic and energetic about his business; the ethos of John Preston Pool and Spa Services is about finding solutions rather than pondering over problems.
“We believe we stand out from the crowd as we offer a wide range of services from the very start of the project, when the customer invariably is working form a blank canvas, right through the handover when invariably we retain contact with those clients on a long term basis through a maintenance and servicing contract,” says John.
Formed in 1997, within three years, the John Preston team was constantly in the top three UK dealers for Beachcomber hot tubs while the pool maintenance side of the business grew with contracts including Marriot Hotels, Total Fitness and LivingWell health clubs, as part of Hilton Hotels. The team has continued to expand with key appointments including Matthew Coxhead, the general manager, Bev Hewitson the full-time inhouse CAD designer and Craig Shaw, the company’s service manager.
Investing in both design and engineering capacity enabled the business to compete for high-end luxury residential projects design in prestigious homes, notably around Wilmslow and Alderley Edge. As the projects came in, the company moved to new larger premises, with showroom facilities, not least to accommodate the company’s fleet of 12 service vehicles.
“Our scope of works covers all aspects of a pool build through to servicing and maintaining the pools once up and running,” explains John. “More often than not we will be the first on site, to start work in an excavated hole, and from there we will take care of pretty much everything else relating to the pool build.”
John Preston Pool & Spa Services wields a broad brush when it comes to water leisure potential. Competent refurbishment specialists and confident new builders, the company is particularly adept at maximising the potential of confined spaces as well as bespoke features such as custom-designed sauna, steam and spas.
First time winners this year, at the recent SPATA pool awards, the plan for the future, is to continue to steadily grow the company without compromising the high quality benchmark that bears the John Preston signature.
