Peterborough-based Posh Spas is maximising the potential of a major PR coup after signing up Strictly Come Dancing and gymnastic star, Louis Smith, as its latest customer, writes Christina Connor.
Pictures of the 24-year-old Olympic silver medallist in his new hot tub have been splashed all over the local and national papers including a special feature in the celebrated Hello magazine. Posh Spas now carry out weekly service home visits to Louis Smith’s home ensuring the Fontaine Spa from Vita Spas, and donated by their UK distributors, Aqua Warehouse, is maintained in tip-top condition.
“The Posh Spas team has been brilliant,” said Louis, in an exclusive interview with Pool & Spa Scene magazine. “The hot tub is great and the Posh Spas knowledge and professionalism has made the whole process very easy,” he adds. “From helping me choose the best hot tub and the most suitable for my new place to coming and installing and maintaining it, I really couldn’t have asked for anything more.“
Louis went to school with Nick and James Hutchinson of Posh Spas. It was their Dad, Andy, who first introduced the family to the world of hot tubs when he bought a Canadian Spa about eight years ago and spotted a niche in the market. Having initially sold from home and then from a garden centre site, the company recently opened up a multi-brand warehouse style showroom as the business continuously develops through servicing, hire and through specialist spa removals. “The whole thing would have been a lot harder to manage if we had not been friends with Louis,” says Nick.
“He is a good role model for sport and he is has gone on to do other things. “It is great to have the association with the company and we will look to maximise the potential to raise awareness of Posh Spas as a one stop shop for all areas of hot tub business.”
