Ownership of hot tubs in the UK has steadily increased in recent years, partly due to the country’s economic recovery, with some estimating that one in ten homes now has one.
Although that figure might be slightly optimistic, the hot tub market is certainly on the up, and yet not all brands have been achieving growth – in fact many have lost ground. Wellis on the other hand, has exceeded 50% growth year on year since they began manufacturing spas five years ago. With almost 500 points of sale across Europe, the company has now firmly established itself as Europe’s largest spa manufacturer.
Robin Twivey of Wellis UK explains: “A number of factors have contributed to Wellis’ success; we invested in a brand new factory, using robotic technology and our green materials and clean manufacturing are all key aspects.
“We also add German TUV quality certifications to all our products, ISO 9001 accreditation, and most recently, energy consumption certifications for each spa.”
Having already shaken up the European market, this year Wellis is concentrating on developing its UK dealer network, offering added value and technology benefits on all spas. The company’s latest innovation is its exclusive Pressurised Ceramic Self-Cleaning filtration, which will launch at their upcoming dealer convention in June.
Robin comments: “This year it has all come right for us with nine new models increasing the range to 31 starting at a typical retail value below £4k right through to around £27k.
“For the more eco-aware customers there is the reassurance that every spa we make is as green as a spa can be,” says Robin.
