Setting Global Standards

Easily the biggest and most influential stage on the global pool and spa stage, Piscine 2012 gets set to raise its biennial curtain in Lyon this autumn, from November 13 to 16. Every two years, Piscine, the global spa and private pool exhibition and Aqualie, the commercial and wellness show and conference, combine to form what has earned a reputation as being one of the truly unmissable events for anyone involved in water leisure. It is estimated that some 1,000 brands and more than 100 product launches will be showcased at this year’s event, with all the key players already booked to take part.

Although attracting a world audience, the combined events are a celebration of the French pool market, the second largest in the world. According to latest research, four out of ten French people dream of having a pool of their own. With a total of 1.5 million pools in 2010, this dream is already a reality for 14% of French households with a house and garden. In a difficult economic climate, gardens and pools are widely viewed as safe investments in France and Europe generally where there are an estimated six million pools. At the heart of this growing market is a demand for superior and innovative products at value for money prices with more emphasis increasingly on energy and cost efficiency. If there was not enough to soak up from the 600 exhibitors, from 90 countries, in the packed exhibition halls, complimentary display areas this year will include: • Pool Vision: Unveiling the world’s most original and attractive pool and spa projects in a dedicated exhibition space.

• Piscine Water Test: Demonstration pools for exhibitors to present their products and equipment at work.

• Piscine Campus: Private areas dedicated to training clients and delivering press presentations.

• Living Pool: A complete offering dedicated to outdoor pool development (flooring, pool house, furniture, lighting, decoration, etc.).

• Pool Eco Attitude: A section of the exhibition dedicated to innovation.

Running in conjunction with Piscine 2012, Aqualie, the public pools conference and exhibition offers three days of information and education with more than 40 expert speakers from around the world and the added opportunity of guided tours to flagship commercial facilities. Check the website for regular updates and remember to book hotel, travel and pre-event exhibition badges as early as possible.
