Hard or Soft

PhosphateEU phosphate directives still apply when it comes to requirements to add phosphate to water supplies, significantly reducing lead and copper levels to our drinking water. Increased phosphate levels in water supply have a significant impact on source water for swimming pools, encouraging increased outbreaks of algae.
Phosphates are, basically, fertilizer and can encourage algal growth, affect pool appearance and impact pool performance. This doesn’t, however, necessarily impose bad news for pool owners. Phosphate levels can be kept very low with several removers now on the market and monitoring the levels has never been easier than with the new Lovibond visual test kit.
