Barry McCabe, owner of multi-award winning, Oyster Pools & Leisure, based in Monmouthshire, Wales, was once a London bus driver. Therefore, without him knowing, his wife Paula devised a ‘mobile party’ for Barry’s 70th that everyone agreed was a triumph. Paula hired a double decker and, in April, a bus load of invited guests – from all over the UK and as far away as Australia – got on board for a fantastic trip. The Routemaster and partygoers left the Angel Hotel, Abergavenny, at 4.00pm; visited a number of Monmouthshire hostelries and returned to the Angel for dinner and dancing until late.
