With a 20 year plus relationship with world leading Aquamatic and offering the Aquadeck slatted pool systems, you could say that Paramount Pool Products had their swimming pool customers well and truly covered.
But, widely accepted that installing a heat retention cover is the single most effective means of reducing swimming pool energy consumption, Paramount responded to market demand by adding Therma-Float® to its cover options, an eco-friendly addition to the company’s high-quality and well-regarded product portfolio.
Pioneered by Paramount Pools, the company was the first British supplier to manufacture two types of thermal safety cover using a unique three-layer lamination process comprising of original PVC 630gm safety fabric and a specified insulation material.
“Having made year-long widespread research on various insulating materials we were introduced to Therma-Float® who specialise in the development of high-performance insulating materials for offshore workers, mariners and militaries throughout the world,” explains Paramount’s Managing Director, Steve Martin.
“Working in close connection with Therma-Float® and independently tested by HSTTS laboratories we are able to offer two types of thermal blanket designed for pools and spa environment. Thermo-safe pool and spa covers can withstand temperatures from -30 / +70°C.
“Once we had established the right material and supplier, we set about producing a cover for swimming pools,” Steve continues. “However, it soon became apparent we needed a higher foam type insulated cover for the swim-spa market.”
Research has shown that an uncovered pool can lose as much as 5˚c heat in five hours. Installing a insulated cover can reduce heat loss in the same period to as little as 0. 65˚c reducing heat loss by up to 85%.
The benefits of installing a heat retention cover does not stop there because they can also reduce water treatment costs by reducing chemical evaporation and reduce humidity and condensation in the pool building.
Regardless of pool size, an insulated cover saves on heating costs and reduces chemical usage that would otherwise be lost through evaporation. It is proven that pool owners can save up to 23% on energy bills with a heat retention cover.
The Thermo-safe pool cover is manufactured using a unique three-layer lamination process comprising of original PVC 630gm safety fabric and Therma-foil made from 2.5mm of polyethylene foam coated with a metalised barrier providing excellent insulation properties.
Following extensive testing and independent verifcation, the results showed a significant difference with the Thermo covers compared with other products on the market.
Thermo-safe pool cover incorporates Therma-foil barrier made from 2.5mm of polyethylene foam coated with a metalised barrier providing excellent insulation properties. Due to the size of the rolled-up material the cover is suitable for new pool installation only; up to 15m long requiring a 405mm wide pit housing.
Thermo-safe Spa Cover metalised barrier is manufactured using the same lamination process but incorporates a 6mm closed cell cross-linked polyethylene foam sheet for ensuring high insulation properties on higher temp environments such as a swim spa or hydrotherapy pools.
Thermo-blanket is supplied in sheet form only made to bespoke sides replace any standard heat retention cover. Incorporating the same 6mm closed cell cross-linked polyethylene foam, the Thermo-blanket can be attached to most domestic/commercial rollers. It is also an ideal solution for free-form shaped pools where roller application is not possible. The cover can be made into manageable size sections that can be remove by hand.
Installing a Thermo-safe cover can reduce heat loss in the same period to as little as 0.65˚c. Now available with a newly-launched manual roller system, the Thermoblanket can be made to a maximum size of 7m x 3m making it ideal for the swimspa market. Offered with a ten-year life expectancy, the Therma-safe covers are exclusively available through Paramount.
