Exeter-based swimming pool and hot tub company, I J Cannings has acquired a rival firm, DP Pools, in a move to expand into Plymouth and South Hants.
When Daniel Philips of DP Pools sought a responsible and ethical buyer for his cherished retail business, I J Cannings was the logical choice.
Managing director Bradley Cannings explains: “In acquiring Plymouth’s DP Pool Services we want to assure our existing clients that things will only change for the better. The same great values of quality service and products will remain.” Since it was established in 1969 by Ian Cannings, I J Cannings has been quietly growing; originally starting out in Alphington and then moving at the turn of the century to their flagship, purpose built showroom on Marsh Barton. After absorbing a pool business in Taunton a decade later, the company cemented its presence in Somerset. Last month the team opened a third store, this time on Plymouth’s well known Faraday Mill.
Still run by the Cannings family, Cannings offers building services to the commercial and construction sector, plus local authorities and commercial building operators. H2O is the retail brand of Cannings, that focuses on the swimming pool, hot tub and wellness sector; in both retail and trade disciplines.
