Cash Support For Riptide Dealers

Cash Support For Riptide Dealers

As part of a bold strategy to double its current number of eight UK dealers, by the end of 2019, Crystal Island Leisure Products, the creators of Riptide Pools, is offering a £22k incentive package for new recruits to its brand of hot tubs and swim spas. Looking to tempt existing hot tub retailers, as well as newcomers to the industry that come with a proven sales track record, the investment money will be used to stamp the Riptide brand in new showrooms in strategic geographic locations across the country. Crystal Island is also looking to use its purchasing power to help dealers negotiate new outlets in locations such as garden centres. “We want to increase quantity but, at the same time, we care about quality,” explains Terry Wu, of Crystal Island Leisure Products, the creators of the Riptide Pools label. “Our short term goal right now is to sustain our existing dealers and to help them increase sales,” adds Terry. “Our aim is to support dealer needs, to identify problems and help provide a solution.” Like many Chinese manufacturers, Crystal Island has been supplying second lines to a fistful of distributors worldwide. The Riptide Pools message is championing a fresh approach to Chinese-made hot tubs and swim spas not just in the UK but worldwide. As a statement of its intentions, Crystal Island has acquired several strategic partnerships such as Oasis Spas in Australia, Allseas in Holland and H20 in France as well as Hot Tub Barn, from the UK’s Huw Chivers. “The past history of badly made Chinese products is partly self-inflicted by an industry that went to China to buy cheaper,” Huw believes. “They specified poorly and they got what they paid for,” he insists. “Smart phones, televisions, computers – we all know and rely upon Chinese-made products in every aspect of our lives,” he emphasises. “China is more than capable of making high quality goods.”

CUSTOMER CARE

Cash Support For Riptide Dealers 2Huw points to the 9.7 score customer reviews the Riptide Pools brand is currently attracting across its Hot Tub Barn websites. “You don’t get those sorts of comments without exceeding expectations both through quality of product but also with customer care both on installation and after sale,” Huw points out. Crystal Island has taken on the Hot Tub Barn stable in the UK with six dealerships under that brand and one additional standalone Riptide Pools retailer in the Midlands. A search is currently underway to replace outgoing General Manager, Huw Chivers, who is handling the reins for the Hot Tub Barn stores. As he approaches his 60th birthday, Huw has left to undertake an extensive period of travel. “It is an end of an era for me as I have personally been involved with Crystal Island for ten years,” says Huw. “Riptide Pools is significant,” he adds. “For the first time, we are seeing a Chinese manufacturer with a go-forward plan to establish its own retail distribution network with its own brand product.” Huw advises: “Riptide Pools is taking a very aggressive approach. It is not afraid to make investments.”
