National Leisure companies lived up to their elite reputation with a clean sweep in the Residential Indoor Pool of the Year category of this year’s UK Pool & Spa Awards.
The residential pools categories proved to be the hardest fought sector in this year’s competition with National Leisure stalwarts, Tanby Pools, taking gold, narrowly pipping fellow National Leisure members, Home Counties Pools and Hot Tubs to silver with yet another National Leisure business, London Swimming Pool Company, taking the highly commended spot.
It was a memorable night for National Leisure with five member companies battling through to winning places in a hard-fought competition that attracted 131 entries from 60 companies.
Tanby secured four places: • Residential Indoor Pool of the Year – winner. • Residential Outdoor Pool of the Year – highly commended. • Residential Refurbishment Project of the Year – runner up and highly commended. As icing on the cake, Tanby Pools’ Joe Pocock won the title of Pool and Spa Engineer Of The Year.
London Swimming Pool Company enjoyed a memorable evening, winning the Energy Efficiency Award, taking the runner up slot in the Outstanding Swimming Pool Design as well as the highly commended place in the Residential Indoor Pool of the Year category. Completing the National Leisure VIP line up, Howard’s Hydrocare secured the runner up slot in Health and Wellness Project of the Year while the Lifestyle Group wowed the judges with a highly commended spot in the Residential Outdoor Pool of the Year section.
National Leisure member companies also performed well in the recent awards organised by the trade associations, BISHTA (British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association) and SPATA (The Swimming Pool and Allied Trade Association). London Swimming Pool Company took two gold and bronze in the Residential Indoor Pools over £100k category and took the Sustainability Award. Welsh based Oyster Pools and Leisure took a host of awards including two golds and three silvers. Home Counties Pools and Hot Tubs struck gold in the Above Ground Pools while Tanby took gold in Refurbishment Pools.
