£500 from Tesco to go towards improvements at the school pools.
A new convenience store in Hastings has celebrated its launch with a donation to two local school swimming pools.
Sandown and Silverdale schools each received a cheque for £500 from Tesco, at the opening of the new express store.
The pools, an increasingly rare luxury for schools across the region, serve both their respective schools and the community, with swimming classes available for all ages out of school hours.
Both pools are maintained by donations and fundraising by staff, volunteers and the schools’ Parents and Teachers Associations.
The store chose to make the donations as part of Tesco’s commitment to supporting the local community and promoting fitness and healthy living for children and young people across the area.
