The win, win case for the panel pool system…
Presented with so many options for modern pool construction, the panel pool system continues to sustain its unrivalled credentials as the industry’s flexible friend. The panel pool covers all bases; ideally suited for both indoor and outdoor installations, whether in a garden, in a barn or pool house building and just as suitable for a commercial setting. The panel pool system also lends itself as the ideal solution for hard- to-reach places like basements and rooftops.
New this year, to an already busy panel pool market, the French-made Unibeo, now exclusively available through Certikin, looks set to be a crowd pleaser. The reinforced, concrete-filled, prefabricated panel liner system, for constructing inground, partially sunken and freestanding pools, the Unibeo is suitable for onsite lining or bag liner finishes and offers a wide range of different step options. The system scores highly on eco-credentials as the panels are made of recycled plastic and their unique design means that smaller volumes of concrete need to be distributed within the wall structure, thus making the system extremely economical to use.
The earthworks are completed to the dimension of the pool size +0.5m all round. This saves time, preserves ground integrity and allows for quick installation of paving – the paving rests on undisturbed ground, reducing the risk of sagging or cracking. A patented self-supporting formwork system which allows basin heights of 1.2m, 1.35m and 1.5m to be achieved, and with pool sizing in 0.5m increments, there is no limit to the overall size of the finished pool.
The Unibeo panel pool system still promises more as Hannah confirms: “A strong element of Certikin’s culture is to continuously innovate and improve, so we are keen to work with the Unibeo team on progressing future developments for the system. Already established as an industry favourite, Lighthouse Pools continues to attract a growing following for its impressive HeatForm panel pool systems.
CARBON FOOTPRINT
A top choice for showroom displays the Heatform helps reduce any project’s carbon footprint as it is manufactured in Devon with insulation made from 100% recycled PET bottles. Specialist recycled insulation is made from plastic bottles destined for landfill, reducing the pool’s energy usage by minimising the escape of the precious resources, compared to a traditional in-ground concrete pool.
The encapsulated patented insulation helps U-values to be met in accordance with Part-L building regulations. From exercise pools and domestic pools up to large commercial installations, HeatForm pools are entirely flexible and easy to install, allowing unlimited lengths and widths. The panel sections are available in four lengths (0.5m, 1.0m, 1.5m and 2.5m) with standard height options of 1.2m and 1.5m for use both in-ground and above-ground.
“The wall panels are clean and smooth ready for lining, so do not need extra trade involvement for rendering or screeding,” points out Lighthouse’s John Whiteside. “As well as helping the environment, this decreases installation time and reduces on-site disruption from costly labour-intensive wet trades who adds: “A 10m x 5m pool can have its walls erected within a day and this is not weather dependent.”
The Heatform panels are secured into place and backfilled, allowing completion time in a matter of weeks. Pool flow and return filtration plus LED lights can be easily added where you need them, using the pre-positioned recesses. John explains: “The modular Heatform construction allows easy access to tight spaces such as basement builds, or down tight alleys into rear gardens.
“So, no need for crane lifts, the largest 2.5m panel weighs only 65 kgs. The system is particularly suitable where access is limited or there is a sloping terrain.” Paramount is packing a significant panel pool punch with its combined 5m x 2m x 1.2m UltraSwim and UltraFlow training pool package.
POOL PUNCH
“A training swimming pool is a worthy investment if your customers take their swimming and health seriously and want to improve,” says Paramount’s Steve Martin. “Training swimming pools take up much less space than conventional pools, making them easier to install and maintain than a traditional lap pool.”
“The cheapest way to obtain a resistance swimming pool from scratch is to purchase an all-in-one Ultra Swim Pool System. This kit includes the pool shell, as well as all necessary fittings and propulsion system for less than £21,000 before VAT.”
SKY IS LIMIT
The sky is the limit on Fluidra’s appropriately named Skypool system that is ideal for temporary and permanent pools both indoor and outdoor with huge scope for rooftop installations. Versatile and impermeable, the Skypool system is a perfect choice for multiple sports uses that need to conform to the official FINA certification standards.
Particularly appealing for their distinctive visual appeal for prestigious hotels and spas, the lightness, versatility and ease of installation make it possible to create rooftop pools with outstanding precision, speed and safety. The most cost-effective solution to give pools a new lease on life.
Quick and easy to install with no need to tear down the entire pool, the Skypool’s galvanised steel panels, allows for the removal of the existing pool and the installation of a new overflow channel. They are available in ceramic and non-ceramic finishes, with built-in drainage outlets. Since there is no need to build a complex infrastructure, a high-performance pool can be built more economically.
“AstralPool has a multidisciplinary team able to give you support in the development of your project from beginning to end,” says AstralPool General Manager, Dyfed Thompson-Smith. “This means you have an extended member of your team available from preliminary design study and quote through manufacture and worksite management to ensure the installation meets all the required specifications.”
SPEEDY INSTALL
Creating more time for more projects, Polypool also take a hands-on approach to supplying its heat retaining panel pool system. “We will send our technicians to support you on your first Polypool install and train you on the simple process,” explains Polypool’s James Hounslow. “On the next ones we offer free video call support should you need it at any point during the future installs.
Polypool’s heat retaining system is eight times more efficient and keeping heat in than your average double-glazing window. Customers love the ability to heat up their pools much faster and retain the heat more efficiently. Offering an unrivalled four-to-six hour installation time for pools from 3m up to 15m in length, you would be hard pushed to find a quicker construction method than the Polypool heat retaining panel pool system.
The Polypool system is fully customisable James emphasises: “You choose what fittings you want and where you want them to go, and we will install them for you so that all you have to do is put the panels together and connect your pipework, saving time and hassle.” Offering high levels of quality control, a Polypool system can be ready within four weeks of ordering and is fully customisable including wall depths up to 9m.
