Back in the summer of 1976, David Adams, the founder of Golden Coast, decided to build a pool for his three sons. When locals started showing interest in having pools of their own, David quickly realised there was a gap in the market and Golden Coast was born.
Forty years on, the company is now run by David’s sons. While Jamie has particular responsibility for the company’s distribution, PR and marketing. Shaun’s specialisms include its Tylö sauna business, pool cover systems and new product development, while Dominic looks after general sales and essentials.
Although Golden Coast has a family feel to it, you don’t need to be part of the family to join it. The company currently employs 29, and, like a family business, those who join tend to stay. Indeed, 12 members of staff have been there for more than a decade.
