Experts in pool refurbishment, and giving pools a new lease of life, the Somerset based team of Purepools, was commissioned to completely transform the 35 year old indoor pool at the Northfield Hotel in Minehead. With an innovative design confirmed, Cranbourne Stone, leaders in swimming pool surrounds, landscape and interiors, was called in to provide the materials needed to make the plan come to life. Built in the 1980’s, the indoor swimming pool at The Northfield was in need of a complete refurbishment to bring it up to date and ensure the classic coastal hotel provided its customers with the finest leisure facility. Sourcing the very best high-quality material, Purepools worked closely with Cranbourne Stone to find finishes befitting the modern, yet classic design echoed throughout the hotel. To bring quality and glamour to the swimming pool, Houghton Grey porcelain tiles, manufactured in Italy, were selected. Not only were they practical for their specialist antislip resistance, but they offered an attractive light toned quartzite look.
As the largest stockist of pool copings and matching tiles in the UK, Cranbourne Stone offered an extensive choice in suitable materials to ensure the final design was unique and would transform the pool into a modern space. With over 30 stunning colours to choose from, Houghton Grey porcelain tiles were chosen to add character and a contemporary feel. 80 sq. metres of Italian porcelain flooring was installed together with 39 copings, 8 corners and 40 linear metres of pencil-edged skirting. With the skill of technicians from Purepools, and the quality material from Cranbourne Stone, The Northfield Hotel swimming pool is now a destination for relaxation and leisure for residents and leisure club members alike. The renovation is now complete and ready to welcome visitors for the busy summer months.
