The pool industry has bid a sad farewell to Molly Alcock, former secretary of the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers, who died at the end of May. Molly spent 33 years working for the Institute and was still working part time right up to the end of March this year when her condition and the prognosis meant that she was unable to continue. Even when Molly was feeling very ill, in early March she penned, for the ISPE Magazine, what turned out to be the final chapter in the long-running Village Pump saga; telling the story of daily life of Old Charlie, the Vicar, his ‘friend’ and the other regulars of the local pub. Molly was a very caring person with a very sharp sense of humour and flair for business. There is no doubt that Molly has left a very large gap in many people’s lives and some very happy memories too.
