A pool built for two-times world champion boxer Amir Khan helped Portrait Pools wield the knockout blow in a two-horse race with The London Swimming Pool Company in this year’s Swimming Pool and Allied Trade Association awards.
The swimming pool, complete with a boxing glove motif on the pool floor, helped north-west based Portrait to accumulate a points victory over their London rivals, amassing four golds, one silver and three bronze wins, as well as the coveted Pool Of The Year to secure the title of Pool Contractor of the Year for the third time.
Portait Pools’ Pool Of The Year was the category winner in the section for residential pool projects priced over £175k. Portrait was asked to design and build a steel reinforced concrete deck level overflow pool with stone bullnosed copings and a special slot overflow system.
This created a smooth millpond effect and with the style of the enclosure and the bespoke stretch ceiling produced a superb visual. Portrait also designed and constructed a 2.2m fully round spa pool which seats 5/6 and is tiled to match the main pool.
