Billed as the heartbeat of the leisure industry, Leisure Industry Week (LIW) 2015 returned to the NEC in Birmingham in September.

Under new ownership, this year’s show was reduced from three days to two in a drive to maximise footfall. Although significantly smaller than previous years, there was still plenty to inspire and energise the leisure sector, with around 150 exhibitors spanning across six core leisure sectors including Pool & Spa, Play, Health & Fitness, Food & Drink, Leisure Facilities and Sport.

A handful of familiar names like Aquamat, JP Lennard, DaleSauna, Zoggs and Waterplay Solutions took to the show floor once again this year to display their latest products and services for the pool and spa sectors.

A one-stop information source for energy and cost-efficient facility management, Calorex’s team of experts offered up-to-theminute advice on how to halve energy consumption in commercial leisure facilities from the smallest spas to Olympic size swimming pools.

Elsewhere in the exhibition hall the LIW pool was a central feature on the show floor, with live swimming performances of endurance swimming, mermaid classes, zorb water racing and aquatic workouts. The education programme proved to be a popular draw for visitors, with a strong line-up of guest speakers covering a varied mix of leisure-related hot topics.
