After several years of planning, the new Heston Pools and Fitness centre in the London Borough of Hounslow is now officially open. The £13.5 million facility includes a 25m swimming pool, as well as a learning pool, a 100 station gym and extensive functional fitness space. The main contractor on the construction project was Morgan Sindall.
Barr & Wray carried out the pool filtration system works and the pool covers were supplied by Forge Leisure. The pool access system was installed by Poolpod and JP Lennard supplied the pool equipment including starter blocks and lane markers.
Tim Mills, director of business development at Fusion Lifestyle, which manages the borough’s leisure facilities, said: “The old pool closed in 2014 and this brand new centre takes the amenities in the area to the next level. “As a charity all income is ploughed back into creating more and better health and fitness centres that are accessible and affordable for all. In recent years that’s £150m of reinvestment and Heston Pools and Fitness is a perfect example of what can be achieved.”
