Sell Out Celebration

Now in their sixth year and run by Pool & Spa Scene magazine, the UK Pool & Spa Awards brought together representatives from water leisure companies across the country.

With public on-line voting hitting a record high, the presentation of the annual UK Pool & Spa Awards attracted a sell-out crowd for a celebration of the water leisure industry’s best achievements over the past 12 months.

The 2015 event took place in The Gallery at the NEC in Birmingham, deliberately timed to coincide with the UK Pool & Spa Expo. New for this year, the awards evening kicked off with an enthusiastic business networking style drinks reception sponsored by water treatment specialists Lonza, which was followed by an informal dinner buffet ahead of the presentations. Back by popular demand, the event was hosted by Olympic bronze medallist and BBC sports commentator Stephen Parry, who delighted the audience with tales from his career both in and out of the water.

Winners across 21 categories covering all areas of water leisure received a wave design glass trophy with runners up and highly commended receiving certificates. All shortlisted nominees were encouraged to use the competition to help promote their business and the pool and spa sector as a whole.

Run by Waterland Media, the publishers of Pool & Spa Scene magazine, this year’s competition attracted 131 entries from some of the country’s leading swimming pool and spa providers. The public vote also set a new competition record, racking up over 1,800 votes online.

The 2015 UK Pool & Spa Awards were by far the strongest to date, both in terms of numbers of entries we received but also the commented Christina Connor, editor of Pool & Spa Scene.

“The industry as a whole has certainly raised the bar with some outstanding projects across the board.

“We hope to build on the success of this year’s awards and look forward to another fantastic year of pool and spa achievements as we look ahead to the 2016 awards – watch this space!”

With the help of generous support from Pool & Spa Scene and the awards presentation attendees, the evening helped raise vital funds towards the provision of clean, safe drinking water through Just a Drop – the official charity of the UK Pool & Spa Expo.
