Watch This Space On Sheeran Pond

Watch This Space On Sheeran PondHis ambition to create a natural habitat on his Suffolk country estate has riled the neighbours of singer Ed Sheeran, following the emergence of a very unflattering aerial photograph of his newly installed swimming pond. When the singer sought permission for a pond on his Suffolk estate, his planning application promised that it would ‘support nature conservation’, providing a habitat for wetland creatures such as dragonflies, and providing drinking water for birds and mammals. A keen eye could spot the plant and vegetation planted around the kidney-shaped installation which needs time to grow. It is a question of watch this space. “Generally plants start growing in April, so by June and July it will be teeming with life and well-established growth,” said Tim Evans, managing director of Gartenart, the company that supplied the swimming pond, told the Daily Mail. “There will be frogs, newts and water boatmen. Birds will be coming to drink.” Gartenart, builds 15 swimming ponds a year, with prices starting at £100,000, using three full-time construction teams and one full-time maintenance team and has created more than 150 swimming ponds nationwide in a market where he has a handful of competitors. And as for the vibrant bright blue colour, Tim insists that is a good sign. “That blue is the sign of a pond being in really good shape.”
