Swimming pool safety will be the hot topic at the first Health & Safety Seminar for Leisure & Aquatic Facilities in Ireland, which takes place in June. The expert panel of speakers confirmed for the event includes Ralph Riley, Director of PWTAG, Richard Lamburn, Technical Manager at the STA, Mark Bagnall, Safety & Environmental Officer for Nuffield Health and Robert Byrne, Leisure & Pool Safety Consultant at BRIO Group.
Presentations will cover topics such as Legionella risk for pools and spas, pool plant operations and risks and water quality & standards for pools. The event is open to health and safety officers working with leisure sectors, leisure centre managers, pool managers, general managers of hotels with health clubs and anyone interested in ensuring they are up to date with latest industry standards, guidelines and operational procedures in operating clubs, swimming and spa pools.
“The purpose of the seminar is simply to raise awareness of the need to ensure all operating procedures in leisure centres are undertaken to the highest level and latest industry guidelines,” explains Aileen Byrne, Director of BRIO Group. “Lots of people have been in contact with us in recent months, looking for information and advice, so it made sense to host a seminar. It is shaping up to be a great day and we have already had to increase capacity due to the overwhelming demand.”
The Health & Safety Seminar for Leisure & Aquatic Facilities takes place on Thursday June 23, at the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, Co.Kildare.
