Party-revellers are urged to grab their dancing shoes for the UK Pool & Spa Awards –the water leisure sector’s not-to-be-missed Celebration Of The Year! A drinks reception, sit-down meal and a sensational band, with a host of prizes and giveaways, add to a lively cocktail of business and individual achievement presentations.
Tickets are selling fast with many companies opting to celebrate with their team for the festive-themed event at Birmingham’s National Conference Centre on Thursday December 5. This year’s contest has once again smashed the 200-entry mark as the industry pays tribute to stand-out achievements in the water leisure sector.
The latest contest has seen 65 companies enter one or more categories in the contest – nine firms throwing their water leisure hat into the ring for the first time. “The aim of the UK Pool & Spa Awards is to recognise the outstanding work of individuals, businesses and organisations,” explains Christina Connor, Managing Director of Waterland Media, the competition organisers.
“The competition provides an unrivalled promotional platform for those who get involved but vitally, also for the industry as a whole,” she continues. “The event is made possible through the sponsorship of nearly 20 companies who know this is a marketing opportunity for them and their customers that is not to be missed.”
Open to a public vote, more than 20 professional judges also award points in some or all categories. As part of the robust competition judging process, finally a prestigious jury will have the task of awarding gold, silver and bronze standards and deciding on the category winners.
“It is a compliment that the UK Pool & Spa Awards is copied by other, less popular events but we are always looking forward and investing in ways to improve year-on-year,” adds Christina. Trends to note from this year’s competition include the rise and rise of one-piece pools as a tried and tested method of quick-build construction.
Eco-credentials are consistently top of the pops for both residential and commercial projects, especially where there is scope to upgrade through refurbishment work. Health and wellness continues to drive investment in home as well as public arenas. The competition recognises the efforts of water leisure businesses to invest in sophisticated marketing across a host of platforms to promote their brands.
A selection of awards, including the prestigious Suppliers Of The Year, are decided by a combination of votes and nominations from the pool, spa and wellness sectors and are revealed at the presentation party. But here, look out for the prestigious names involved, as we proudly present a selection of the runners and riders in this year’s contest:
