Record Breakers

Michelle DewberryThe hot tub and spa categories have been so well supported that categories like, the hot tub and spa project have been divided in two.

“The aim of these awards is to acknowledge the outstanding work of as many companies as possible, giving them an opportunity to promote their own company but also, collectively, the water leisure industry as a whole,” comments Christina Connor, on behalf of the competition organisers, Waterland Media.

“We have had more entries than ever before across the board, but especially from companies involved in the delivery of hot tubs and swim spas,” Christina says. “Every year, the contest just gets better and better,” she adds. The awards presentation evening will return, by popular demand, to The Vox conference centre with Resorts World at Birmingham’s NEC on Monday December 4th.

The evening will begin at 7pm with a business networking drinks reception, sponsored by water treatment specialists, Lonza UK. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with all of the companies involved in sponsoring the awards – all helping to raise the profile of the industry as a whole. An informal buffet dinner will precede the hotly-contested prize giving when finalists across the 31 categories will be photographed with the event’s special guest, businesswoman and broadcaster, Michelle Dewberry.Sponsors

“The awards are an excellent shop window for an industry that just collectively and continuously strives to raise the bar,” says Christina. “One of the trends, judges have commented upon, is the size and scale of hot tub and swim spa projects this year, both in terms of landscaping and construction work, as well as the project budget,” she adds.

All competition entrants are awarded bronze, silver of gold accreditation in some 31 event categories. The majority of category winners are decided by public vote, judges’ votes and then the results are scrutinised by an independent jury. Some categories such as Spa Retailer Of The Year and Spa Technician Of The Year are considered by the jury alone.
