A small and dynamic pool distribution business based in Plymouth, Devon, Lighthouse closed 2023 by clinching the prestigious UK Pool & Spa Awards title of Supplier Of The Year. A clear winner, despite some strong competition, with the largest number of nominations from their appreciative client base, the company was repeatedly mentioned for its product knowledge and client training investment as well as its after sales support.
“Winning Supplier of the Year was a tremendous accolade for all the hard work the team at Lighthouse put in during what was a challenging year for the industry as a whole,” says Managing Director, Daniel Phillips. “As a business, we have much to be grateful for and lots of exciting products and innovations to share with our customers.” There is no question of resting on any laurels as Lighthouse sprints out of the 2024 product development blocks.
“At Lighthouse, our doors and ears are always open to fresh ideas and new ways of working. It’s this dynamism that drives us and enables us to bring to the market some of the smartest and most up to date equipment available today,” comments Daniel. To keep up with the interest in all of their new products, Lighthouse have invested heavily in the infrastructure and programming of their Technical Training Centre based in Witney.
The training centre is set up and fitted out with two fully functioning HeatForm pools, both equipped with Velocity swim jets, Polytropic heat pumps and Bayrol treatment and dosing systems. There is also a working Coverseal safety cover on display alongside the new HeatForm Tidal Wave slatted cover system. During spring, there are a number of product specific training days available to book as well as bespoke engineer training sessions.
TRAINING FOCUS
Excitingly, in a UK first, Lighthouse is also able to offer Coverseal factory-accredited installation training with experts from the Belgian company delivering a limited number of sessions to key Lighthouse dealers. Similarly, experts from Bayrol will be travelling to the UK to deliver the bulk of the Bayrol water treatment and dosing equipment training.
John Whiteside, Business Development Manager explains: “The technical training centre is much more than a showroom. “It’s an investment in our customers and distribution partners. We pride ourselves on our in-depth product knowledge and maintain close links with all our manufacturers to enable us to deliver training which is targeted, useful and customer focused.”
First out of the 2024 blocks, to extend its in-house brand HeatForm, Lighthouse is launching a full range of slatted cover systems designed and manufactured in its Plymouth factory.
The raw extruded slats and drive motors are sourced from one of Europe’s leading manufacturers whilst, the bespoke processing and finishing will be undertaken by the HeatForm team resulting in improved flexibility and lead times.
“We are offering a complete range of in-pool installations plus our new and attractive above ground system – The Wave – which features both electric and solar options with integrated LED lighting,” Daniel explains. HeatForm Tidal Pool covers are a range of in-ground submerged covers which are elegantly designed and engineered to last; intended as a little extra luxury in the pool design.
Available in five installation configurations including a shallow water beach entry system with steps – unique to HeatForm – which is their most popular model – enabling somewhere to sit and dangle your feet on hot summers days.
NEW PRODUCTS
Mid way through 2023, the world-renowned dosing and water treatment manufacturer Bayrol chose Lighthouse as their sole UK distributor and their technical team have been impressed with both the quality and support around the full range of products. Similarly, another new addition the Polytropic range of heat pumps have already proven popular with the trade.
The brand is scoring primarily for their unique remote access system which provides Lighthouse with the ability to access and monitor every single unit sold in the field, giving valuable peace of mind. Lighthouse is approaching 2024 with cautious optimism in what is set to be a busy year for Lighthouse but maintaining a humble and grass roots gratitude that underlines their popularity with the trade and their position as UK Supplier Of The Year.
