Total Pool Filtrationā€™s Ceramiflo was the filtration system of choice for the construction of a six-pool Olympic Swimming Centre – the largest public leisure centre in Norway.

Manufactured by Provital of Denmark, Ceramiflo was selected for its low water and energy consumption compared to traditional solutions.

The fully automated backwash uses 80 per cent less water than traditional backwashing, and does not require a backwash holding tank. In addition, the plant-room footprint required for Ceramiflo is more than 30 per cent less than for sand filters, providing a significant saving on construction costs, and maximising revenue generating floor space.

The system installed at the pool in Norway had 44 ceramic membranes in total, providing a capacity in excess of 1,300mĀ³ of water per hour. Serving six pools, including 50m and 25m Olympic pools and two therapy pools.

The modular system provides operational flexibility, whilst the option to remotely monitor online saves on operation and maintenance staffing costs.
