The revision of the Management of Spa Pools publication is nearing completion, and this document is likely to be referred to as ‘HSG 282’. The official title of the publication is due to be ‘The control of legionella and other infectious agents in spa pool systems’.
Once the document is finalised, further news about the impact of the guidance will be made available to the industry. With changes to the SPATA Standards, a 2017 version will be available shortly for those members that have attended the training sessions – either face to face or online. Additional dates will be provided, subject to a demand for members to learn more about the changes, created by new and revised British and European standards.
BE AWARE Requests for the Electrical Awareness Workshops continue to increase, with the fourth course recently run; there are now 40 people that have benefitted from the information regarding the safe installation of hot tubs. Two more courses will be run in the early part of 2017, and these are being held in Norfolk and Birmingham on February 22 – 23 and March 1 – 2 respectively. To check for availability and/or to go on a waiting list for the Autumn courses, please contact the BISHTA office on 01264 356211 or email email@example.com. Don’t forget to visit the BISHTA and SPATA team on stand A1 at SPATEX 2017.
Education continues to be at the forefront of what SPATEX can provide attendees, with excellent ISPE workshops and a second seminar area offering other important topics from organisations such as PWTAG. Ross Alcock at the ISPE deserves praise for his organisation of the ISPE workshops and thanks are also due to the many other show partners for their support. The Asssociation also looks forward to seeing you at the Industry Gala Evening on Tuesday January 31, which will host the 2017 British Pool & Hot Tub Awards, for BISHTA and SPATA member companies.
