AstralPool UK began a major realignment of its UK business strategies, for both commercial and residential pool and spa sectors, at the start of this year. The transformation coincided with the arrival of industry stalwart Patrick Thorpe as operations director; his primary goal being to guide the team through the transitional period.
Immediate changes included the strengthening of AstralPool UK’s customer service levels with the investment in new staff in the warehouse and its sales line up. This has included the appointment of a dedicated account manager for the northern area in Jim Cooper and the promotion of Garreth Rigby to the role of internal sales team leader. As part of its longstanding distribution agreement with Heatstar Energy Technology Systems, AstralPool UK has appointed a specific heating and ventilation business development manager – John Harvey, to build on this key relationship and to develop new opportunities within the market place.
“We have restructured our overall sales approach with a view to building on the existing levels of customer service and identifying further areas of development, opportunities and improvements,” explains Dyfed Thompson-Smith, AstralPool UK’s sales and marketing manager.
“As part of this process we have utilised Patrick’s experience within the Fluidra Group to improve service levels, promote new products and stock levels.
“This has increased our product availability by engaging an ongoing stock review programme which has resulted in an overall increase in stock levels of 35% so far,” Dyfed adds and continues: “We have reviewed our pricing strategy on a key range of products and have taken advantage of the sympathetic exchange rates to pass on significant potential savings to our trade customers.”
That price review has seen AstralPool UK launch a new price list to specifically target and promote its residential product offering. Recent product promotions have included a special offer on the Viron variable speed pump with a chance to take advantage of winning won free of charge.
