Heatsavr was officially recognised for its water saving benefits at the UK Water Efficiency Product Awards 2017. The original liquid pool cover won the award in the Industrial & Business Use category for its water saving benefits in commercial swimming pools. Organised by Waterwise, the Water Efficiency Product Awards recognise the achievements of designers, inventors and businesses who have worked hard to develop water efficiency solutions.
Heatsavr promotes water efficiency as it slows evaporation from the surface of a swimming pool, resulting in less water top-up on the pool and subsequently less water heating. Heatsavr can be used on any size or shape of pool and can replace a manual pool cover or be used in conjunction with it. One of our commercial customers has recorded a saving of 1000 cubic metres of water per annum by using Heatsavr.
Chris Whincup, Head of Water Treatment, and Account Manager Stuart Melville accepted the award on behalf of Brenntag UK & Ireland at the presentation evening at the House of Lords on March 7th. “The award win is particularly important for us as we normally highlight the energy saving benefits of Heatsavr but in fact, we should be striving to save precious water resources,” commented Jenny Lunn, Business Manager at Brenntag. “We are fortunate in the UK that water is normally in plentiful supply but this not the case in all parts of the world. We also have a duty to consider the impact of our actions on the planet and we carry a strong belief within Brenntag in saving water where possible, including in public and private swimming pools where water can easily be saved through the use of a pool cover.”
