National Leisure members were the big winners at the 2017 SPATA and BISHTA awards with six NL member companies picking up a combined 17 top accolades. “The vast number of accolades achieved that this year’s SPATA and BISHTA awards are a feather in the cap for National Leisure and clearly show the high calibre of members associated with the organisation,” declared a delighted Nigel Gray, Chairman of National Leisure. “We are very proud of all our members and congratulate them on such a successful haul of awards.”

TOP SPOT : Surrey-based Tanby Pools scooped a Gold, a Silver and two Bronze SPATA awards in the residential pool categories. The company took the top Gold accolade in the Residential Outdoor Pools ÂŁ75,000 – ÂŁ125,000 category. Delyse Borley, Director of Tanby Pools commented: “The awards are further confirmation of the quality of work that we produce and I am sure play a major part in the calibre of projects we are asked to tender for.” National Leisure winners included London Swimming Pool Company, who won a Bronze in the Residential Indoor Pools over ÂŁ200,000 category and one of the company’s pool designers, Jason Beirne, won the Paul Kite Award for Pool Star of the Year. National Leisure’s Grayfox Swimming Pools of Lincoln collected a Silver in the Residential Pools Under ÂŁ100,000 category, a Bronze in the Inground Commercial Spas & Wellness category and a top Gold accolade in the Commercial Pool of the Year award.

MEDAL HAUL : Oyster Pools & Leisure of Monmouthshire took Silver in the Special Requirements Pool of the Year category, and the team from Cannings H2O celebrated after winning a Bronze and two Gold BISHTA Awards as well as a Gold and Silver SPATA Award. Finally, the dedicated team from Home Counties Pools & Hot Tubs of Horsham, West Sussex, was awarded the prestigious Peter Geekie Award for Retail Excellence. A delighted Craig Trusson, Managing Director, commented: “We are thrilled to have won the award, which serves to honour the commitment that our team puts in to ensuring our retail show centre continues to be one of the best in the UK and showcases our industry in a professional way by promoting the concept of ownership of both pools and hot tubs”. He added: “The accompanying cash prize was also greatly received and the team here chose to donate it to the Pancreatic Research Cancer charity”.
