This stunning outdoor residential swimming pool by Aqua Platinum Projects formed part of a wider Grand Designs project, situated on the Isle of Wight. The brief was for a pool and spa, which would make the most of the breath-taking views across the Solent to Old Portsmouth, the Spinnaker Tower and Southampton Water.
The client stipulated that the pool must be easy to use, energy efficient and family friendly. The pool was built on the first floor terrace of the property with a raised aspect spa cantilevered over a private beach – designed for year-round use to make the most of the unique location. The pool incorporated and insulated panel system, along with a slatted automatic safety cover from Ocea to reduce running costs and retain heat.
Both the swimming pool and the spa were tiled with a blend of blue mosaic tiles, supplied by Designworks Tiles to compliment the tones of the sea and picturesque landscapes surrounding the property. The project was awarded a Gold Standard in the UK Pool & Spa Awards at the end of last year.
