Aqua Platinum Projects worked alongside a prestigious housing developer to create this spectacular infinity edge pool overlooking the stunning Surrey downs.
The independent swimming pool contracting company designed this technically challenging pool pioneering the use of an automatic safety cover without compromising the aesthetics of the infinity edge.
The Aqua Platinum Projects team explains: “The brief was to design and build a 12m x 6m outdoor pool for the client’s stunning Surrey mansion in Oxted.
“The pool had to tie into the landscape which was a tiered garden with a dramatic vista.”
Another key consideration for the team on this project was child safety. As a family pool, it was crucial that it included a safety cover for when not in use. Working closely with Paramount Pools, Aqua Platinum installed the UK’s first ever infinity edge aquamatic safety cover at the property. The collaboration was a team effort and drew on the extensive experience of both Aqua Platinum and Paramount Pools engineers.
The Aqua Platinum team comments: “The result was an outstanding success which exceeded the expectations of our client Millgate Homes. The house has since won multiple awards and was also featured in the Evening Standard, which posed the question – is this the coolest outdoor pool in Britain?”
The pool was also named runner up in the Residential Outdoor Pool of the Year category at the UK Pool & Spa Awards in January.
