One in three children is leaving primary
school unable to swim, according to a report
by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA).
Of those who cannot swim, nearly two
fifths (39%) have never been offered lessons
at school.

With the London Olympics almost upon us, these are exciting
times for swimming in the UK and the swimming pool industry as
a whole.
At five key training centres across Britain, competing
swimmers are working flat out before they go for gold – and
already swimming pools are seeing a dramatic increase in interest,
particularly amongst youngsters.
Nearly three million people take the plunge every week, making swimming the biggest participation sport in the UK. But British Swimming and the BBC are working together to inspire even more people into the pool with the Big splash campaign.

Year’ at the 2011 Kellogg’s ASA Swimtastic Awards, making it their seventh time scooping the top prize.
The company’s continued commitment to the development of community wide swimming programmes and initiatives led to them winning gold, up against GLL and Everyone Active.
