The purpose-built facility seamlessly blends therapeutic function with contemporary design, creating a space that supports health and relaxation while remaining highly energy efficient. Particular attention was paid to accessibility, ensuring the architecture and pool environment could be used with ease and comfort.
Constructed on the site of a former garage, the project presented a number of engineering challenges. Existing pile and ring- beam foundations required careful adaptation to accommodate the new structure without compromising performance. In response to the site’s highly shrinkable clay subsoil and the presence of nearby tree roots, Origin Leisure implemented a structurally engineered raft foundation solution for both the pool building and chamber.
The completed project has received industry recognition, earning a Silver Award at the 2025 UK Pool & Spa Awards in the Residential Indoor Pool of the Year category for projects valued over £175,000.
