Starting as separate businesses but exchanging ideas, experiences and problems over many years, the merger of two leading pool companies has seen the creation of the Caw Trading Group – fast becoming one of the biggest forces in the UK pool and spa sector. Paul Woodhead, founder of Aspect Pools, and Robert Coombs, founder of Deep End Pools, are playing to their strengths with a business marriage that has not only survived its honeymoon period but is looking forward confidently to many happy anniversaries ahead. “Both Paul and I were actively looking to break into each others’ markets and both felt, at this level, you could not go it alone,” explains Robert. “So, after many meetings and strategic planning, a merger between the two companies was a natural move,” he says. Robert expands: “Paul’s strengths within the business are mainly having an eye for detail or a gap in the market while I tend to be able to come up with a solution for many sticky situations on the building side.” Searching further afield for suppliers has opened more doors for the company that will be exhibiting at the UK Pool & Spa Expo in Birmingham in January. “CAW trading group are generally looking forward to the next season.
