A luxury hotel pool needed a makeover..
Hampshire’s Four Seasons Hotel boasts an 18th-century stable block which houses the luxurious Spa and a focal feature of a conservatory pool that was badly in need of a makeover having last been updated 16 years ago. The Four Seasons wanted to refurbish the popular pool to create a classic feel that radiated style and elegance while being consistent throughout the resort without compromising on guest safety. With members paying £5k a year for membership, a tight timeframe was crucial and the project had to be completed within a three-month timeframe as the entire swimming pool area and the showers had to be closed throughout the renovations.
Local specialists, Carl Vernon Swimming Pools was appointed to overhaul the pool with both style and safety features in mind. The blown tiles not only created an outdated appearance but also posed a safety concern.”
SLIP RESISTANT

Just because you’re considering safety, it doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style.” Cranbourne Stone utilised its bespoke service and specialist machinery to get over a number of hurdles during the build including cutting coping stone to a specific radius to perfectly fit the curved pool edge. Jo Standfield of Cranbourne Stone added: “We applied our water jetting to the step treads, assessed water depths in coping stones and pre-cut step sections for accuracy and safety management.
