This year’s BISHTA competition resulted in wins for 11 of the 14
companies that submitted 37 entries in five categories – two of
which were split into UK and Overseas category winners.
Oyster Pools & Leisure Ltd has retained its title as Best UK
Showroom in the annual British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub
Association awards announced in Brighton in February.
The Jacuzzi hot tub retailers were crowned top UK show site
for 2012 for the second year in succession, beating Hydropool Hot
Tubs’ new Portsmouth showroom into runner-up spot.
Operating from the site for more than three decades, last year,
Oyster carried out the latest refurbishment of its show site at
the Raglan Garden Centre, Raglan, near Usk, in Monmouthshire,
Wales and once again it has paid dividends.
Typically, about 14 hot tubs will be on display alongside
above ground and exercise pools and a variety of water leisure
accessories.
Assessment and reorganisation of the displays is continuous
ensuring every product is shown to its best advantage; all three
entry/exit points have full disabled access and maximise ease of
use for customers and staff.
The retail shop and its front-facing show area (containing
two hot tubs) combine to create an eye-catching, central and
welcoming feature of the wider site. No matter the extent of the
display alterations, when visiting the show site all customers are
guaranteed a new view at every turn and corner
“The show site’s development has been evolutionary,” says
Oyster’s Paula McCabe on behalf of the team. “We are always
thinking about first impressions. We seek to reinvent the visual
impact of the show site while being careful to maintain and
reinforce our strong, widely-recognized corporate identity.
“In the show room, the concertina doors, moisture membrane
ceiling, humidifier and floors are all products customers can buy.
In short – if it’s on show: we sell it!”
