Celebrating its 20th anniversary and with the exhibition space sold out some two months early, SPATEX 2016 looks set to be the best ever.
Over one hundred companies from the commercial and domestic pool and spa sectors will be exhibiting their latest products and services, encompassing all aspects of water leisure.
The exhibition returns to the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena from Sunday 31 January to Tuesday 2 February inclusive. Left with the enviable task of re-organising the floor plan to accommodate an influx of last minute exhibitors, the show’sorganiser, Michele Bridle has been overwhelmed by the industry’s fantastic response.
“We have a packed show and what better way to mark 20 years of being the industry’s number one exhibition,” says Michele. “I’d like to thank all of our 100+ exhibitors for their fantastic support, including the biggest names in the industry and some never seen before at SPATEX. Together, they represent all sectors under the water leisure umbrella, so it’s lining up to be a good showcase for visitors to get what they need from the event.”
SPATEX 2016 has an impressive line-up of 28 industry experts leading the programme of workshops and seminars during the three-day show. Over 20 new workshops will be offered by the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers (ISPE), including an indepth look at entanglement and entrapment on the Sunday and a special seminar on water quality for animal hydrotherapy pools on the Monday afternoon. Attendees at all ISPE Workshops will be awarded a CPD point on their Certificates of Attendance. In addition to ISPE workshops, the show’s organisers are repeating the success of last year by holding a second seminar programme. This will include marketing and social mediabased presentations on the Sunday and an important seminar for pool and spa plant operators by Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) on Monday afternoon from 2pm. On Tuesday there will be a series of talks by experts from the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG) from 10.00 till 14.45 that are of particular importance for spa operators in commercial situations, including the latest guidance on Legionnaires’ disease.
Show organiser Michele urges visitors not to think of SPATEX as being just about swimming pools. This year spa companies are putting the ‘Spa’ into ‘SPATEX’, with names such as, Aqua Spa Supplies, Vita Spas, Aqua Via Spas, Astral, Certikin, Coast Spas UK, Elite Spas, GMT Spas, Superior Spas and Wellis all signed up.
Michele adds: “We are, of course, hoping to see our many loyal visitors who have helped make SPATEX the success it is, but we have also worked hard to attract new commercial visitors and, repeating the success of last year, we are offering a double programme of workshops and seminars on all three days of the show to do just that.”
As an added networking opportunity, all exhibitors and visitors are invited to join the Mexican-themed networking party on Monday February 1, to celebrate SPATEX’s 20th year milestone. Complete with tequila, sombreros and a bucking bronco, the party starts straight after the show from 5pm in the Ricoh Arena’s Bar 87. Presented by SPATA and BISHTA, the British Pool & Hot Tub Awards Gala Evening takes place on Sunday January 31 January at the impressive E-On Lounge, overlooking the Ricoh stadium and will include live entertainment.

They have already successfully used it on many pools in Scandinavia including the largest public leisure pool centre in Norway.
