MANCHESTER URBAN OASIS

Therme Manchester is simply the most ambitious wellbeing destination projects currently under development in the UK; the projected build cost is set between £250 million and £400 million.

Located at Trafford City, near the Trafford Centre in Greater Manchester, the project represents a major milestone in urban regeneration, sustainability, and leisure innovation bringing a unique “urban oasis” experience to millions of visitors annually.

Outline planning was initially approved in 2020 and construction began on the colossal project in 2025 with a current scheduled opening date of 2028. An independent study forecasts the resort could contribute over £4.5 billion+ to the UK economy. Construction and operation is expected to create thousands of jobs — including roughly 2,500 construction jobs and around 650+ permanent roles once open.

The resort will include approximately more than 25 pools — both indoor and outdoor warm-water pools and lagoons designed for play, relaxation and therapeutic bathing. More than 20 water slides are planned, creating a large family play zone with a wave pool and tropical-style water attractions.

But the destination will cater for all markets. A major part of the resort is wellness and holistic wellbeing, with 30 saunas and steam rooms of varying types. Adults-only relaxation areas will feature warm water lagoons, swim-up bars, mineral baths and landscaped gardens.
