2026 is already shaping up to be a positive and productive year for PWTAG, with new initiatives, industry recognition and growing engagement across the water leisure sector.
The year began with a successful appearance at SPATEX, where the organisation welcomed a steady flow of visitors to its stand. The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity for friendly conversations with professionals from across the sector and generated strong interest in membership, reflecting increasing awareness of PWTAG’s work.
Building on this momentum, the event also marked the launch of the Industry Hub—a collaborative initiative designed to bring PWTAG together with other water leisure experts and organisations. The hub aims to create a space for knowledge sharing, discussion and collaboration, helping to connect expertise and strengthen the sector.
Recognising excellence remains an important part of PWTAG’s work.
Through its POOLMARK awards, the organisation highlights facilities that demonstrate outstanding commitment to pool water quality, safety and operational best practice.
Since the start of the year, POOLMARK has been awarded to Wychavon Leisure Community Association and Nottingham City Council. In addition, six centres were successfully re-assessed, having first gained the award in 2023. POOLMARK is reassessed every three years to ensure that high standards continue to be maintained.
Looking ahead, PWTAG will also expand its international presence with plans to attend the Asia Pool & Spa Expo, taking place 15–17 May at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. The event is one of the region’s leading gatherings for pool, spa and water leisure professionals and will provide an opportunity to connect with international experts while promoting best practice in pool water treatment and management.
PWTAG is also continuing its efforts to reach a wider audience through a programme of expert-led webinars, member forums, and opportunities for members to help shape future content. By inviting members to share ideas and highlight the topics most relevant to their work, the organisation aims to ensure its resources remain practical and aligned with the evolving needs of the industry.
These initiatives reflect PWTAG’s continued commitment to supporting best practice and strengthening expertise.
