Leading leisure industry awards event is set to be LIVE streamed…
The much praised UK Pool and Spa Awards celebrates its 10th anniversary this December with a virtual presentation ceremony that will be live streamed to its biggest ever water leisure audience. With Covid-19 restrictions making it impossible to hold the traditional presentation, networking event and after dinner party, the organisers are taking the safety first approach and switching to live-streaming. “Like the leisure industry they represent, the awards team have adapted to the challenging circumstances we find ourselves in,” says Christina Connor, on behalf of Waterland Media, the competition organisers.
“First and foremost, this competition is about promoting as many companies as possible and together, the water leisure industry as a whole, regardless of their trade affiliations.” “Over the past decade, the competition has grown organically, giving a huge marketing boost to business across the water leisure sector,” she continues. “What is particularly exciting is how many first time entrants this year’s competition has attracted which shows how fresh and innovative the competition remains,” she adds.
“We have to thank the sponsors who have backed us and who are playing an even more vital role in making the UK Pool & Spa Awards possible,” and emphasises: “The awards show will still go and still promises to live up to its not-to-be-missed reputation broadcast to what we anticipate will be its biggest ever audience.”
Despite the challenges of trading in 2020, nearly 70 companies involved in the provision of water leisure have thrown their hats into the ring for this year’s UK Pool & Spa Awards competition. Some categories were again, so well subscribed, they have been divided into smaller groups again creating the possibility for a promotional platform for even more winners. All entries in the competition undergo a three-tier judging process with on-line public voting, points awarded by specialist judges and finally, scrutiny by an independent jury. Winners will be announced in the on-line event on Thursday December 10 that will be live streamed with the promise of plenty of entertainment industry personalties and some surprises.
Awards will also be made in additional categories such as Pool Technician Of The Year, the Commercial Pool Refurbishment Project Of The Year, Water Leisure Operator of the Year as well as awards for energy efficiency, marketing and outstanding achievements.
