Bespoke Swimming Pools recently breathed new life into a tired old pool at a private property in Borough Green, Kent. The 12m x 5.5m outdoor pool was originally built to incorporate a liner but after being retrospectively tiled, five years ago, the pool had fallen into a state of disrepair. It was at this point that Bespoke Swimming Pools were called out to address the problems and come up with a full refurbishment solution. “When we arrived on site, it was clear to see that the pool needed a complete overhaul,” says Tony Keogh, director of Bespoke Swimming Pools. “One of our first challenges on this project was to make the pool shell suitable for tiling. This involved building a four inch concrete inner skin to strengthen the exterior.” The Bespoke Pools team also installed new pipework, coping stones and paving around the pool area with landscaping services also included. “Another major consideration for us was that the customer had requested an automatic cover. To accommodate this, the roman end of the pool was lowered and made shallower,” says Tony.
